Privacy Policy — AshShifa
Last updated: 9 June 2026
AshShifa ("the app", "we", "us") is operated by FiveM Infotech. This
Privacy Policy explains what information the app collects, why, how it is
used, and the choices you have. By using AshShifa you agree to this
policy.
1. Information we collect
-
Account information — your name, email address, and an
encrypted (hashed) password when you create an account. Optional profile
details such as phone, date of birth, gender, and address if you provide
them.
-
Health & fitness data (steps) — if you grant
permission, the app reads your daily step count from
Android Health Connect to show your activity. See
Section 4.
-
Location — with your permission, your device location
is used to calculate prayer times, the Qibla direction, and to find
nearby masjids.
-
Microphone / audio — used only when a masjid
account chooses to broadcast the live azan ("Go Live"). Audio is
streamed live and is not recorded or stored by us.
-
Notifications token — a device push token so we can
send prayer/azan reminders and live-azan alerts.
-
Payment information — if you purchase a subscription,
payments are processed by Stripe; we do not store your
full card details.
-
Usage & device data — basic technical data needed
to operate the app reliably (e.g. app version, error logs).
-
Health records / consultations — for telemedicine
features, information you submit (e.g. appointments, messages with
providers) is stored to provide the service.
2. How we use your information
-
To provide the app's features (prayer times, Quran, azan, telemedicine,
etc.).
- To create and secure your account and authenticate you.
- To send reminders and notifications you have enabled.
- To process subscriptions and payments.
- To maintain reliability and fix problems.
We do not sell your personal information.
3. Who we share it with
We share data only with service providers needed to run the app:
- Stripe — payment processing.
- Expo — push-notification delivery.
-
Our hosting provider — to store your account and app
data securely.
-
OpenStreetMap / Nominatim — to look up coordinates for
masjid addresses (location lookups).
-
Public Islamic-content providers (e.g. Quran and Hadith text/audio) —
these receive only the content you request, not your identity.
4. Health Connect (steps) — specific disclosures
-
AshShifa accesses your step count via Android Health
Connect only after you grant permission.
-
This data is used
solely to display your own activity inside the app. It
is not sold, and is not shared with
third parties for advertising or any unrelated purpose.
-
You can revoke Health Connect access at any time in Android Settings →
Health Connect, or by turning the permission off.
-
Health Connect data is not used for any advertising or marketing
purpose.
5. Data retention & your choices
- We keep your data while your account is active.
-
You can export your data and
delete your account from within the app (Profile
settings); deleting your account removes your personal data from our
systems.
-
You can disable location, microphone, notifications, and Health Connect
permissions at any time in your device settings.
6. Security
Passwords are stored hashed, data is transmitted over encrypted
connections (HTTPS), and access to stored data is restricted. No method of
transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we take reasonable measures to
protect your data.
7. Children
AshShifa is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly
collect personal information from them.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be
reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
